Some of my earliest and fondest memories are of watching movies. I loved experiencing the different stories, the different humor, and the different adventures that each movie provided. I wasn’t satisfied until I had seen every film I could get my hands on and could quote every line. So it was of no surprise to my father, when I told him at the age of 9, that I was going to go to film school.
It wasn’t until many years later, during my freshman year of college, that I found editing to be my niche. It has been a growing and evolving passion ever since. I love putting the puzzle together and watching the story come to life. I love finding each story’s unique rhythm and providing my own perspective, while at the same time staying true to the director’s vision and the story’s needs. And there is nothing quite as satisfying as getting a challenging scene to click after much trial and error.
I aspire to the skills of Anne V Coates, and I always find myself coming back to “In The Blink of an Eye,” by Walter Murch.
I hope you enjoy my blog and follow me on this ride as I learn and grow as an editor.
